Why Connect-ED at Kennedy Elementary? (8/18/2011)
Recently an event at a school in Southeast Idaho taught us how difficult it is to communicate with parents when both telephone and cell phones are jammed and overloaded. With the implementation of the new Connect-ED technology we will be able to send instant multiple messages to parents, keeping them informed as to developments, regardless of the situation.
We will be able to contact you in case of an emergency closure caused by snow or other weather conditions. We can also contact groups such as individual classes, grade levels, students who are bussed, or parents of after-school program participants.
In the remote possibility of a terrorist event at the school, parents would be contacted as new information became available.
The system also has the capability of informing parents as to student attendance. An important component of the program is absentee notification.
It is important that as contact information changes the school should be notified as soon as possible. If parents will take it upon themselves to keep contact information current, we will do our best to keep you informed through this system.
Feel free to contact us at Kennedy Elementary in regard to the status of your current information. We would be glad to review it with you. To visit the Connect-Ed website click here.
Let's not repeat the unnecessary stress experienced at a nearby school by not being able to quickly and effectively communicate.
